The
ballets
Our group takes part to many important popular and tourist events
in the Aosta Valley and appears in streets exhibitions all over Italy
and Europe in the occasion of different folklore festivals. On the
average, the group is made of 35 components (exhibitions are staged
by 20/25 people). The show, consisting in two or three parts with
an maximum length of one hour and a half, takes up the group in a
whirl of choreographic ballets, historical dancing from the rural
world and court dances from the bourgeoisie of Aosta, accompanied
by song in libre voix. Popular music is played by accordion
and rhythmed by an instrument called fléau, which originally
served as a farmer tool at the reaping time to thrash the corn. The
other instruments we use are the boeus (a wooden tool used by our
forefathers to make the butter), the flute ant the frustapot.
Suggested activities: staging
shows, parades, street entertainment, school cooperations, exhibitions
in tourist and gastronomic stands, etc
Our activity.
The activity of our society aims to three goals:
- social purpose: to be a reference
for our fellow-citizens interested in joining a traditional environment
where to learn our lands values: friendship, welcoming, solidarity,
mutual respect and cooperation towards a common achievement;
- cultural purpose: our shows want
to transmit the spirit and traditions of our people, staging choral
songs, dances, dialect poetry, traditional music by ancient and
modern authors;
- tourist promotion: we exhibit abroad
in order to let other people know our beautiful mountain region.
Our group has no lucrative purpose and takes part to different events
on the simple basis of expenses refunding. We propose many different
terms of exchange with other cultural groups and societies.
